Album Review: Wiz Khalifa – O.N.I.F.C

Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa returns with his second studio album ‘Only Nigga In First Class’ abbreviated to O.N.I.F.C. Following the success of ‘Rolling Papers’ I was quite looking forward to it and after hearing promo tracks ‘Remember You’ featuring The Weeknd and ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’ I felt like this could top it. The truth of the matter is that those two tracks are the only highlights in a very average album. Wiz’s trademark lyrics about smoking marijuana and having more money than he can shake a stick at become very tiresome. The album is 17 tracks long and to be honest it’s a chore to listen to it again after the first time, with each song sending you into an eery deja vu. Funnily enough Wiz boasting about the materialistic objects he owns and how much marijuana he possesses doesn’t send me into a musical frenzy. ‘Rolling Papers’ was a good novelty and perhaps I was wrong to expect more from the American artist, but I was left disappointed with a bill of £7.99 that I wish I could reclaim.

5/10
